DeGRAFF – Henry "Hank" Earl Weinert II, 58 of DeGraff, passed away peacefully at 1:58 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Xenia, Ohio, on July 23, 1967, a son of Henry Earl Weinert and Nancy Lou (Milam) Weinert.
On March 4, 2024, Hank married Amber Diane (Burchett) Weinert in DeGraff, Ohio, and she survives. He is also survived by five children, Kerra Weinert, Kelli (Cameron) Cochran, Katie (Justin) Myers, Madison (Sean) Perkins, and Jalynn Stanley; eight grandchildren, Allison Aurora Myers, Jaxon Phillip Myers, Octavia Caitlin Myers, Everett Lee Cochran, Max Henry Cochran, Harper Kay Perkins, Briggs Dion Shoffner, and Raelynn Renee Shoffner; a sister, Nancy Carol Weinert; a brother, Randy L. Weinert; nieces and nephews, Allen Coy, Jamey Coy, and Paris Long; and his in-laws, Jim and Vickie Burchett.
Hank was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Harper Ryan Hammond, and Amelia Catherine-Rose Hammond.
A carpenter, Hank was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Gulf War era from Feb. 13, 1989 to Sept. 5, 1991.
Our warrior Hank is victorious in the loving arms of Jesus as of early Friday morning. Hank is free of cancer, body restored, whole in heaven now. His family was by his side. While the grief is overwhelming, there is a bit of solace in knowing he is no longer suffering. The past several days have been brutal and cruel, but his final moments were peaceful and surrounded with love.
Hank fought such a good fight. He ran the race set before him with more perseverance, love, kindness, gratitude, and bravery than we have ever witnessed before in our lives. He told us just a few weeks ago, "I have had such a good life. I got everything I ever wanted." He believed in every fiber of his being that he already had victory, either way!
A celebration of life service will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025 at Stone Gate Farms, 4354 County Road 64, DeGraff, Ohio 43318 where Pastor Nate Wilcoxon will lead a time of remembrance at 2 p.m. Following the celebration of life service, there will be a get together out at the farm.
