Henry John "Hank" Wunschel Jr.

Henry "Hank" Wunschel Jr. died Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Parkwest Hospital. Hank was born August 21, 1960, in Geneva, NY. and was preceded in death by his father Henry Wunschel Sr. He is survived by his children, Adam and Emily Wunschel and their mother, Linda Wunschel of Knoxville and his mother, Anne Wunschel of Tellico Village. He is also survived by his sister, Karen (Robert) Carroll of Knoxville and brother, Steve Wunschel of Atlanta, as well as his nephew Matthew Carroll and three nieces, Haley Carroll, Elizabeth Cook and Hannah Wunschel.
Hank grew up attending schools in Huntington, NY, Augusta, Georgia, Geneva, New York and Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from Farragut High School in 1978 and went on to attend Tennessee Technological University where he received a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business. He spent his career in finance in the auto and mobile home industry.
Friends and family will remember Hank for his easy-going nature, kind heart and ability to make friends wherever he went. Hank enjoyed spending time with his children and golfing, especially with his dad. He was a fan of Tennessee football even in the tough years and loved to listen to Jimmy Buffett and John Pryne.
A funeral mass will be held at St Thomas Catholic Church in Lenoir City on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 11:00 am with inurnment to follow.
