I am thankful for having lived across the street from Herb for the last 22 years. I really enjoyed when our mailbox trips fell at the same time or we were both having fun shoveling snow. He would take a genuine interest in what was going on with my family or my latest house project over the years. Herb would take the time to stop and share and make you feel at ease. I know how much he loved his family and how much he missed driving! I´m sure he is driving Ruth around right now. He will be missed and remembered for his kind smile and affable nature.
My sincerest condolences to your family.

I am unable to attend Herbs funeral, but I wanted to leave a note. I met Herb as I was serving as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ. He is and was an amazing man. He taught me more about Jesus Christ, then I could have ever taught him. He lived an example of faith, he loved his family and friends dearly, and was a like a grandfather to me. Especially since I didn't have a grandfather figure growing up, I am so grateful for Herb.

We just received the news yesterday that Herb passed away, he was a very good man that loved family and remembering our parent's generation. I loved that he was able to come to PA to see mom for her birthday, even with the bad weather that day. I will always be grateful for the time spent with Herb at our family get together at Camp Mack. His legacy will live on with his children and grandchildren. Peace comes knowing that he is with his beloved Ruth. Our heart felt love to you all, Cousin Connie and Gary Guare
