Herbert Harold Britton

Herbert Harold Britton died on December 17, 2025, after complications that arose from
a heart attack. He was 83 years old at the time of his passing.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Henry Britton, Jr. and Sarah
Veatrice Hobson Britton. He is survived by his wife, Betty Joan Speegle Britton, his
three daughters, Tracey Britton Silliman (Sherwood), Pamela Britton Smith (widow of
Lee) and Sheri Britton Jones (Deric), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Harold was born in Birmingham, Alabama in July 1942, where he fell in love and
married his bride of 64 years. A family man and veteran of the United States Air Force,
he ultimately retired as the founding business owner of a pest control company. He was
an avid hunter and outdoorsman who kept everybody laughing. With his honesty,
generosity, and humor, he filled the hearts of his loved ones with joy. Those who knew
Harold saw him as the ultimate jokester and are certain that Heaven is a happier place
with him in it.
A special thank you to the staff at Princeton Baptist Hospital who fought the good fight
when his heart failed him. The family will always remember the love and dedication of
those professionals in Harold's final moments.
Graveside service at Valley Springs Cemetery in Good Hope, Alabama on Saturday,
December 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude's
