We are deeply saddened to share the news of Herbert Lewis Haynes Sr.'s passing. He peacefully left us at the age of 73 on November 17, 2024, at Northampton Post Acute Care and Nursing Home in Palmer Township. Herbert, a resident of Stroudsburg, formerly of New York City, was born to the late Julius Sr. and Alma (Jenkins) Haynes. He dedicated many years of his life to the New York City Housing Authority, providing for his family.
Herbert's love for life shone through in his passion for sports, particularly basketball, biking, and music. He had a wonderful sense of style and always took pride in looking his best. All who knew him will fondly remember his vigorous spirit and cherished interests.
He leaves behind a loving family who will feel his absence profoundly. Herbert is survived by his daughters, Mary Haynes Griffin, Tennille Haynes, Felicia Hoffart, and Nicole Burrows; his siblings, Laura Alicea, Rose Haynes, Benita Medina, and Lisa Medina-Rowe; his brother, Stanley Haynes; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory forever.
Herbert was preceded in death by his beloved son, Herbert Haynes Jr.; his brother, Julius Haynes Jr.; and his sister, Denise Haynes.
In this time of grief, the family will hold services at their convenience. The arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME in Bethlehem. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Herbert's family and friends during this difficult time. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
