Lanette Fernandez

Lanette "Lanny" Fernandez, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. Born on December 22, 1960, in Bethlehem, PA, Lanny lived a life marked by dedication to her family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for the simple joys in life.
Lanny grew up in Fountain Hill and Bethlehem, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories. A proud graduate of Liberty High School's class of 1979, she furthered her education by attending college, which laid the foundation for her later career. Lanny's work life was a testament to her caring nature, having devoted over 25 years of service as a Patient Care Assistant at St. Luke's Hospital. Her compassion extended beyond her professional role when she later joined the team at Moravian Village, providing meticulous care in housekeeping for five years.
Family was the cornerstone of Lanny's world. She found her greatest joy in the company of her beloved sons, Paul Fernandez and Manuel "Manny" Fernandez of Bethlehem, and her treasured granddaughter, Ava Lynn of Easton. Her love extended to her dear mother Connie (Myers) Brown of Fountain Hill, sisters, Michele Hackett of Fountain Hill, Tarra Northington of Easton, and her brother, Garfield Hackett, and his wife Tina of Easton, all of whom will remember Lanny for her warmth and unwavering support. A host of nieces and nephews also felt the affectionate touch of Aunt Lanny's kindness throughout their lives.
Lanny was predeceased by her father, Arthur Hackett, husband, Manuel Fernandez, and her precious son, Paul Fernandez, who passed away on January 27, 2023. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Lanny is now reunited with her loved ones in a place of peace and eternal love.
An avid cook, Lanny's kitchen was the heart of many family gatherings, where laughter and the aroma of her delicious meals filled the air. She had a penchant for unraveling the mysteries of whodunit while watching her favorite murder mystery and horror shows, a hobby that brought excitement and a touch of suspense to her evenings.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill PA, where there will be a calling hour from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A memory tribute may be made at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
Memorials: in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lanny's name to the American Heart Association.
