REID: A Service honoring the Life and Legacy of Mr. Herbert J. Reid, Jr. of Jonesboro, Georgia who passed September 5, 2023 will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1599 Betty Talmadge Avenue, Jonesboro, Georgia; Pastor Terrence M. Curtis, Officiant and Elder Herbert J. Reid III, Eulogist. Interment, Kansan City, Kansas. Remains will lie in repose from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. A viewing will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, 8968 Fayetteville Road, Jonesboro, Georgia. Survivors are his children: two daughters, Yvoncil (Dwight) Jones and Tonya Harvey both of Wichita Falls, Texas; one son, Herbert J. Reid III (Tasha) of New Orleans, Louisiana; two sisters, Patricia A. Stokes and Madella S. Henderson of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Marvin F. Reid of Kansas City, Kansas; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; his closest neighbors, Josh and Cynthia Willis, Joshua, Jordyn and Nathaniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family via CashApp: $HerbertJReid3.
