He was born March 22, 1931 in Barron to Emil and Alma (Nitz) Zabel. He grew up on the farm in Barron and graduated from Barron High School in 1950.
He married Deloris Lloyd on May 5, 1955 at Salem Lutheran Church Parsonage in Barron. He was a life time member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Bud is survived by his wife, Deloris (of 68 years); daughters, Andrea of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Kristin (Dave) Presuhn of Fridley, MN; daughter-in-law, Cathy Zabel of Barron; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Alma; son, Gary and sister, Gertrude Millerman.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Barron with Pastor Fred Buth officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron. Online condolences can be made at www.rauschandsteelfuneralhome.com.
