Rev. Herminio Febres, Jr., 74, of Clifton, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024. Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Rev. Febres was raised in Passaic, New Jersey where he lived for most of his life. He has resided in Clifton for the last 20 years. He was employed for almost 50 years with Lummus Technology of Bloomfield, retiring as an Information Technology Specialist. Rev. Febres was devoted to the Lord and served as Pastor of Iglesia Damasco Pentecostal Mizpa, first in Jersey City and now in Hoboken for 50 years. Rev. Febres was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Rev. Febres proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1971.
He was predeceased by his parents, Herminio F. Mendez and Marta Q. Mendez.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Nilda (nee Urbina) Febres; three devoted children, Julissa Febres, Emily S. Febres and Herminio Febres, II and his wife, Glenda; two sisters, Maria E. Lopez and her husband, Nicanor Lopez and Marta Febres; and five grandchildren, Jenesis Alverio, Luis J. Vega, Julien E. Vega, Mikaela I. Febres and Gabriela G. Febres.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. The funeral service will be held Thursday Evening at 6:30 pm. Final prayers will be held Friday morning at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the committal at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
