Herschel D. Floyd, 81, was born on January 14, 1944, to Melton Floyd and Sadie Basham, in McClurg Missouri. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis J. Floyd, both parents, Melton Floyd and Sadie Basham, and sisters, Linda, Thelma, Effie, Delpha, Roberta, Jewel, Edna and Helen.
He completed his education and graduated from East High School. After graduating, he joined the Marines. After receiving an honorable discharge, he made his residence in Sugar Creek, MO. He was employed until retirement as a Residential Installer for ADT. He was married and had four sons.
Herschel was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He also enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and baseball. However, what made him the happiest was spending time with family.
Herschel departed this life on October 26, 2025. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Floyd; sons Micheal Floyd, John Sippel, Robert Sippel, and Roger Sippel; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8th starting at 2pm at the VFW 3976 in Sugar Creek, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the VA hospital.
