WOODRUFF- Heyward Donald Leake,77, of 801 Cavins Road went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 7, 2025, at his home.
He was born April 30, 1948, in Spartanburg County to the late Samuel Donald Leake and Ruby Nell Roberson Leake. He was a member of West End Baptist Church and a retired employee with MEMC. He was a member of Cavins Masonic Lodge #226 AFM, Three Pines Country Club and a 1966 graduate of Woodruff High School.
Surviving are two daughters, Angie Phillips (Scott) of Woodruff and Lisa Grant (Rex) of Woodruff; grandchildren, Kadie Osswald (Danny) of Pauline, Levi Cooper (Katelyn) of Woodruff, Logan Swofford (Justin) of Pauline and Megan Coxey (Chris) of Chesnee; great-grandchildren, Jacelyn Osswald, Beau Cooper and Georgia Kate Coxey; special friend, Marsha Penland. He is also survived by his special co-pilot, Booger. He was predeceased by a sister, Dianne Leake Arnold.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at West End Baptist Church by Rev. Rex Keaton. Interment with Masonic Rites rendered by Cavins Masonic Lodge #226 AFM will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
Serving as pallbearers, Wayne Arnold, Levi Cooper, Justin Swofford, Danny Osswald, Ronnie Roberson and Mike Workman.
Honorary Escort will be the Woodruff High School Class of 1966.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Woodruff Area Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 352, Woodruff, S.C. 29388
The family is at his home, 801 Cavins Road, Woodruff
