Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, today we gather not in sorrow, but in celebration of the life of Hilaria "Lala" Aguirre, a child of God, who was called to her eternal home on April 27, 2025. Born on the blessed day of February 21, 1934, in the humble town of Mason, Texas, Lala was a beacon of light to all who knew her, and she departed from this earthly realm in the loving community of San Angelo, Texas.
Lala, the joyous spirit and heart of her family, was one of nine siblings whom the Lord blessed with the gift of togetherness. She is survived by her dear twin sister, Rosa Garcia, who shares an unbreakable bond with her that transcends even death. The legacy of Lala's love and faith continues to flourish through her seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, each a testament to her unwavering devotion and care.
Our sister Lala was a masterful creator with her hands, a seamstress of the highest order. She stitched love into every quilt and garment, warming the bodies and souls of family and friends alike. Her creative spirit was a reflection of the Creator's joy, and her works remain as cherished heirlooms, woven with memories and love.
As we reflect upon Lala's life, we are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul, who said, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Indeed, Lala fought courageously through life's trials, her faith as her shield and guide. She was a pillar of strength, her courage an inspiration, and her creative spark a source of boundless joy.
In every thread of fabric, in every comforting quilt, Lala expressed her faith-filled life. Her hands were rarely still, for they were the instruments through which her loving heart spoke volumes. She was a woman who saw the beauty in the fabric of life, and with each stitch, she brought forth the tapestry of her own story, rich with color, warmth, and grace.
Let us find comfort in knowing that Lala's story does not end here. For as it is written, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21) Our dear Lala now resides in the glorious presence of our Savior, where there is no pain, no tears, only the peace and joy of eternal life.
As we bid farewell to Hilaria "Lala" Aguirre, let us hold fast to the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the faith she lived. May her memory be a blessing to us all, and may we strive to emulate her courage, creativity, and unwavering faith as we continue on our own journeys.
So, let us rejoice, for Lala has been called to her heavenly home, and there she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
