Hilary Jessica Shipton, affectionately known as Jessie to her friends and family, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Greer, South Carolina. Born on September 27, 1950, in New York City, NY, Jessie's life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit and passionate love for her family, friends, and the simple joys of life.
Jessie's journey began as a bright light in the bustling city of New York, where her infectious laughter and boundless energy were a beacon of joy to all who knew her. Jessie's heart found its match in her beloved husband, Charles Francis Shipton III, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories until his passing. Together, they raised a family that included their son, Charles Francis Robert Shipton IV, who preceded her in death, and their daughters, Brandy Levine married to David and Carrie Murdock married to George, who continue to honor their mother's legacy.
Jessie's role as a mother was only surpassed by her delight in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren, Makayla Montemayor married to Austin, Aurora Shipton, Gabrielle Waldroup, and Jacob Waldroup, along with her great-grandsons, Houston, Lincoln, and Jack, were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A woman of deep faith, Jessie found solace and strength in her bible study groups, where she formed lasting friendships and grew in her spiritual journey. Her spirited nature was also evident in her love for the outdoors; she found peace and contentment in the simple pleasure of fishing, often accompanied by her furry friends, Bella the Chihuahua and Houdini the Chiweenie. Jessie's passion for life was infectious, and she had a unique ability to find happiness in the everyday.
Jessie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the unwavering belief in the goodness of people. Her faith-filled approach to life, spirited personality, and passionate heart have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She navigated life's challenges with grace and always managed to find a reason to smile, reminding us all of the power of positivity.
As we bid farewell to Hilary Jessica Shipton, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will continue to inspire. Jessie's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.
