Hilda Teresa Garrido, 92, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away February 2, 2025, at her home. She was born June 24, 1932, in Mexico to Oralia Mercado de Pimentel and Ramon Pimentel Powell.
Hilda had worked for District 62 in Des Plaines, IL for many years as a school librarian assistant.
Hilda is survived by her children Terhilda (Eric Shaqfeh) Garrido of Oakland, CA, Yolitzma Garrido of Grayslake, IL, Annabella (Jude Fischer) Garrido-Fischer of Grayslake, IL, and Oralia (Michael McCarthy) Garrido of Johnsburg, IL, her grandchildren Dylan (Katie) Fischer of Chicago, IL, Stefan Shaqfeh of Oakland, CA, Zoie (Nick) Prudenzano of Bettendorf, IA, Elena (Matthew Breuer) Shaqfeh of Brooklyn, NY, Owen McCarthy of Chicago, IL, Colin (Nicole Godellas) McCarthy of Champaign, IL, and Powell McCarthy of Johnsburg, IL, and her great-grandson Waylon Prudenzano of Bettendorf, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert Garrido, her brothers Hugo Pimentel Mercado and Ramon Pimentel Mercado, and her sister Oralia Pimentel.
