The family of Paul Maggio, age 88, of Grayslake, IL, sadly announces his passing on August 16, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL, on July 28, 1937, Paul is remembered by his wife of 62 years, Theresa, his children Peter Maggio, Lisa (Ken) Kwiecien, and Paul (Jennifer) Maggio; his grandchildren Zach, Matthew (Kathryn), Ella, and Joey; his sisters Alberta Pieruccini and Julia (Martin) Carlino; and sisters-in-law Denise Maggio and Lorraine Fancher.
Paul was a long-time fixture of the Grayslake community, serving as the town barber for 56 years. His barbershop was a cherished gathering spot and often the source of inspiration for the sermons at St. Gilbert parish. Paul was also passionate about golf, celebrating two holes-in-one during his lifetime.
His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, whose accomplishments filled him with pride. Those who knew Paul will remember him fondly as a master storyteller and a source of constant laughter. His presence will be deeply missed.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030, on Friday, November 28th. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. A reception will take place at a location to be announced. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.
