Hilda Allen Moore

Hilda Allen Moore, age 93, a longtime resident of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away on December 29, 2025, in Russellville, Arkansas. 

Hilda was born on April 11, 1932, in Ludlow, Mississippi, Scott County, to Garfield Prentis Allen and Willie Dee Fortune Allen. She graduated from Brandon High School and continued her education at Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi. She was employed with Trustmark Bank for 13 years, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.

A devoted member of Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, Hilda served in many roles throughout the years and remained an active participant until health challenges no longer allowed her to attend. She was a faithful woman who deeply loved the Lord, her family, her church and her community. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her beautifully kept yard and her love for plants and birds, which brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Christine Bond, Shirley Schuster and Erma Jean Purvis; her brother, John Prentis Allen; and her grandson, Tyler Grantham.

She is survived by her daugthers, Mindy Looney (Kevin) and Melanie Pollard (Terry); three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and Brookdale Assisted Living Home for the compassionate and attentive care they provided Hilda during her declining years.

Memorials may be made to Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, Brandon, Mississippi.

Hilda's burial was private in Andrew Chapel Cemetery, Rankin County, Mississippi. Her memorial service will be Saturday, January 3, 2025 at 2pm, at Andrew Chapel Baptist church.
