Hildegarde Gertrude Kretzschmar

Hildegarde Gertrude Kretzschmar Was welcomed into her Lord’s loving arms on October 4, 2017, at age 101. Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Rev. Felix Kretzschmar. Loving mother of Judith Kretzschmar, Susan Knight, and Charlotte (Jeff) Williams. Dear grandmother of Kimberlee (Raymond) Staples, and proud great grandmother of Tanner Staples. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Hildegarde was a long-time member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa where her husband served for 33 years. A devoted and supportive minister’s wife for over 55 years, she was active in many church organizations. Hildegarde was an excellent cook and homemaker. She loved crafts, Scrabble, card games, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles but had to sacrifice these pleasures as she gradually lost her eyesight due to macular degeneration. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Library Square, Care Managers -Aaron and Chris of Community Care, and also everyone at The Lutheran Home who provided care and comfort to Hildegarde in her final days. Friends and relatives are invited to gather at Graceland Cemetery Chapel, 6401 North 43rd St., Milwaukee Tuesday October 10th from 10:30 AM, until Service of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Rev. Jonathan Rusnak officiating.
