Hollie LeAnn Bryant Johnson, a radiant soul who brought light and joy to everyone she encountered, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in her hometown of
Jacksonville, NC, at the age of 40. Hollie lived a life full of love, laughter, deep faith and inspiration.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Hollie's wonderful life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of this extraordinary woman who loved the sunshine, her family, and who lived life to the full with compassion, courage, spunk, and sparkle.
Hollie was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Shirley Lawson and Catherine Dawson, as well as her great grandmother, Margaret (Peggy) Shupp, all of whom she loved deeply.
Family was so important to Hollie. She is survived by her loving parents, John G. and Carol Bryant; her cherished sons, Koby and Johnny Mack; her siblings, Kristy Bryant (husband Brian Wright), Jenni Overbay (husband Brian), and Evan Bryant (wife Lindy); and her beloved grandpa, F.M. Lawson; as well as her adored nieces and nephews, Alex, Abbie, Leah, Gavin, Emma, Hailey, and Violet. Her loyal dog, Braxxton, and cat, Salem, were also dear to her heart. She leaves behind so many other family members including Joseph Maready, David Spencer (wife Ashley), Phillip Johnson, and countless loving, supportive, and special friends.
Hollie was a wonderful mom, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend whose caring and generous spirit touched all who knew her. She never met a stranger and loved everybody with an open heart. We would all say that there was never a time she was not immediately available to be there for those who needed hugs, encouragement, support, or help in any way. Her spunky nature and love for cheetah, hot pink and sparkles made her the life of the party and the center of attention wherever she went. Her charm, quick wit and humor left a lasting impression on everyone. You could not meet Hollie and forget her!
As a gifted cosmetologist and a skilled Instructor of Cosmetology at Coastal Carolina Community College, Hollie was always busy making others happy at the salon or other special events, and she was a go-getter who encouraged others to pursue their dreams. Her creativity and passion for teaching inspired many students to reach their full potential. Outside of work, she had strong faith, deeply loved Christ and tried to live her life loving Him and loving others. She found joy in singing, dancing, listening to praise music, going to church, hanging with friends and family, reading, serving, and giving to others.
Hollie's interests were as vibrant as her personality. She loved the sun, the pool, going to the beach, decorating for every holiday, and cheering on her sons, Koby and Johnny Mack, at their various sporting events. A true sports mom, she was their biggest fan and supporter. You could definitely hear her exuberance and cheering from the stands. Her southern cooking and baking were delicious and her charcuterie trays were legendary. She was quick to give gifts, always thinking of others.
Hollie's legacy of kindness, encouragement, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered as a beacon of beauty, fun, generosity, love and light.
