Holly Flynn, 65, of Fairfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 10th, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 24, 1959, in Fairfield, CT, to the late Agostino and Eleanore Iannarone.
Holly was predeceased by two of her children, Keira Elizabeth and Kevin Travers Flynn. She is survived by her two daughters: Melissa Flynn and Molly Tanis and her husband Aykut; her son Thomas Flynn; Holly's brother John Iannarone and his wife Elaine; her niece Sarah DePrado and her husband Jarrod; and her nephews Joshua and Nicholas. She is survived by many loving cousins throughout the United States and Canada.
While Holly attended Andrew Warde High School, she studied abroad in Turkey. She would also study abroad in Montpellier, France while she was a student at Fairfield University.
Besides being a phenomenal mother, Holly enjoyed working at Hillel Academy as a preschool teacher and Blackham Elementary School as a reading tutor. She was a fierce advocate for kids and especially children with special needs throughout her life. She volunteered with her oldest son, Kevin, at the Fairfield Public Library and at the Fairfield Senior Center. She also loved cooking, reading, traveling and learning. Her friends and family appreciated her kindness, generosity, and compassion. Holly will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Holly’s family would like to thank Hartford Healthcare Hospice at Home for their care and support in her final days. Family and friends may visit on Friday, December 19th from 10am - 12pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield CT.
