Homan William Miiller

Homan William Miiller, affectionately known as "Cowpa" and "Chief", was born October 28, 1934 to Carl Miiller and Frieda Tonne Miiller in Western Llano County. He passed away at the age of 90 in Western Llano County in the same house where he lived since 1936.
Homan was preceded in death by his parents, wife Inez Miiller, sister Ella Toellner and husband Ralph, sister Margeret Wensel and husband Edwin, sister Lorien Miiller, and brother-in-law Richard Crenshaw. He is survived by his sister Olien Crenshaw, son Bryan Miiller and wife Lisa, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Homan and Inez married in 1957. Together, they raised cattle, hogs, and sheep, farmed hay and peanuts, and always had a bountiful garden. Homan built fence, butchered livestock and wild game, and made sausage for the neighbors. Hunting, playing dominoes and cards, and visiting with friends (often in German) were among Homan's favorite pastimes.
Homan was a founding member of the Castell Volunteer Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for over 25 years. His service extended to all who gathered at the annual CVFD BBQ, where they could usually find him pouring tea. Homan was also confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Castell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Castell or the Castell Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation is at Harrell Funeral Home Saturday April 12th from 4-6. Service is Sunday, April 13th at 2pm at Harrell Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Miiller Family Cemetery 15545 W SH 29 Llano, TX.
