Homer Clateon Bessant

Homer Clayton Bessant, 77, of Trenton, NJ departed this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Preferred Care at Hamilton in Hamilton Township, NJ.
He was born on June 12, 1947 in Conway, South Carolina, to the late Homer and Ruth Bessant. Homer received his early education in the Horry County Public School System in South continued his education in the Trenton Public School System. He was a resident of Trenton for most of his life.
Homer worked at Stresscon for 26 years as a Laborer. He had the innate gift of working with his hands. In his youth, he became a self-taught, community mechanic and repaired cars from near and far. After Homer's time with Stresscon, he returned to his youthful work as a mechanic and did so until 2014 when his health declined.
In addition to his parents, Homer and Ruth Bessant, Homer is also predeceased by two brothers, Alton and Darnell Bessant; and one sister, Brenda Bessant.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bessant of Trenton, NJ; three children, Andrea Johnson (Norman), Bronda Bessant, and Charles Bessant, all of Trenton, NJ; four sisters, Lolie Young (Joe) of Pemberton, New Jersey, Ruth Ann Smith, Judy Hodges (Hardy Jr.), all of Trenton, NJ, and Deneen Tolbert (Ray) of Columbus, OH; three brothers, Melvin and Otis Bessant of Trenton, NJ, and James Bessant (Henrietta) of Willingboro, NJ; four grandchildren, Takara Bessant, Ebony Brown, Tazir Howell, and special granddaughter, Tamirah Armstrong, all of Trenton, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
