1st Peter 5:10. In his kindness God called you to his eternal glory by means of Jesus Christ. After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power is his forever and ever. Amen.
Homer Jackson Moore, 89, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on July 29, 1935, in Falls Mills, VA, Homer lived a life full of love, service, and integrity.
Homer’s life was a testament to dedication and compassion. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of honor and duty throughout his life. For 42 years, he was a steadfast employee of the WV American Water Company, where his work ethic was an inspiration to many.
A man of deep faith, Homer was a cherished member of the Mid-Way Christian Church, where he taught Sunday School and served as an elder for many years. His commitment to his church and its community was unwavering, and his presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
After retiring, Homer dedicated his time to volunteering at Bluefield Regional Hospital, where he became known for his kindness and generosity, bringing smiles to both patients and staff. He had a gift for making others feel special and was always ready with a warm smile or a helping hand. Our fondest memories are dad working feverishly everyday on our new church building along side his brothers in Christ. He absolutely loved doing that. He was also known for being an avid Bluefield Beavers football and basketball fan along side of the WV MOUNTAINEERS!!
Homer was a man who "walked the talk" — a true man of integrity. His actions spoke louder than words, and his legacy of honesty and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
