Homer Alton Shoemaker JR

Homer Alton Shoemaker Jr., age 91, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Highland District Hospital. He was born August 3, 1931 in Harriett, Ohio the son of the late Homer and Carol (Cummings) Shoemaker. Homer was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had owned and operated HASJ Construction and later HASJ Mill and Rentals. He was a member of the F.O.E. Lodge Aerie1161. He is survived by his children, Allen Shoemaker, Lori (Jeff) Wooton, and Danny Joe (Cindy) Shoemaker all of Hillsboro; 5 grandchildren, Darin (Kay) Shoemaker, Cortney (Brad) Roades, Seth (Kristina) Shoemaker, Jacob Wooton, and Ethan (Annaliese) Shoemaker; 2 great grandchildren, Alexandra and Silas Shoemaker; and sister, Dorothy Rosa of Grove City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Tom Shoemaker and Mary Jacobs. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday January 13th at the Pisgah Cemetery, S. R. 124, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. Military Honors will be presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard. A Celebration of Homer's Life will be held following graveside services from 4:00p.m. until 6:00 pm at the Hillsboro Fraternal of Eagles Lodge in Hillsboro.
