Hope Taylor Harris

While it is with profound sadness we announce that Hope Taylor Harris passed away on February 8th, 2026, we take joy in the fact that she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, February 11th, at 3:30 PM in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 10th, from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Born August 22nd, 1939 to Walter and Pearl Taylor, Hope Taylor Harris lived a long happy life. She was a native to Goldsboro, NC, where she worked at Wayco Ham Company for 38 years. For the last eighteen years, eight of which she lived with her daughter Joanne and husband Glenn, she has lived in Greenville, NC.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, of 53 years, Daniel Earl Harris. Her daughter Teresa Ann Dunlap. Her faithful companion and beloved German Shepard, Bruno. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Pearl Taylor and her siblings Johnny Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, and Sue Stox.

She is survived by her daughter Joanne Wetherington and husband, Glenn, of Greenville, and her son-in-law James W. Dunlap, of Winston-Salem. Her grandchildren Jeffery Wetherington and wife, Melanie, of Stokes, Daniel Wetherington and wife, Megan, of Ayden, Brian Dunlap, of Winston-Salem, and Kristin Tincher and husband, Chris, of Kernersville. Her great-grandchildren Christopher "CJ" Wetherington, of Stokes, Joshua Wetherington and wife, Abby, of Kernersville, Zachary Wetherington, of Stokes, Daniel "Opie" Wetherington, of Ayden and Bella Wetherington, of Ayden. Step great-grandchildren Kaydence and Autumn Tincher, of Kernersville. She has many extended family and friends that she loved dearly.
