Hope "Hopie" Domitila Romero

  Hope “Hopie” Domitilia Romero, age 80, passed away October 21, 2025 in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born August 9, 1945 in Aztec, NM to Zolio and Agapita DeHerrera.

She was married to Raymond Romero for 17 years.

She was preceded in death by sister, Flora Youell and brother, Larry DeHerrera.

  Hope is survived by her children: daughter, Carla Joy Dominguez of Rio Rancho, NM, sons, Reuben Carlos Casuas of Albuquerque, NM, Vencent John Griego of Albuquerque, NM and Steven Andrew Griego of Bloomfield, NM; sisters, Pauline Montoya of Blanco, NM and Beatrice Armenta of Bloomfield, NM; brother, Henry DeHerrera of Belen, NM. Grandchildren: Jacqueline, Melanie, Estrella, Estephanie, Samantha, Sabrina, Alexandria, Amri, Ariel, and Ozzryel; great-grandchildren: Anais, Audiana, AJ, Maddison, Fallon, Matias, Mariana, Alfredo, Delilah, Jasper, and Jaiden.

Hope was a homemaker, taking care of house and home and children.

Her interests included: loved football (especially the Dallas Cowboys), painting, dancing, traveling, and taking her grandkids to bingo.

The Romero Family would like to thank the Nevaeh Hospice and Life Spire Assisted Living staff for taking such good care of our Hope.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Daniels Family Funerals and Cremation, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Funeral Services will be announced at a later date.
