Hope Amber Kingrey, 89, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022. She was born in Old Town, Maine on December 2, 1932 to the late William and Florence Marie Lee. Hope is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Norman H. Kingrey (Bobby); brother, Bruce A. Lee; sister-in-law, Nilane Lee; great-granddaughter, Hope Suzanne Kuykendall.
Hope loved to shop. Her obsession was any kind of rug and her husband always laughed when she came home with, yet another rug. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and as they had children her attention shifted to her great-grandchildren. Even in the last weeks of her life, her great-grandchildren could always bring a smile to her face, and her smile was amazing.
Her last jobs were Jane’s Hallmark followed by Mary’s Hallmark. Her daughters received beautiful Hallmark ornaments each year at Christmas time, which they still treasure.
Hope leaves behind her daughters, Becky Howard and her late husband Billy, Pam Paz and her husband Armando. During her lifetime, Armando “Monroe” played a significant role in supporting her with loving attention. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris DuJardin, who rarely missed a day not calling his Nana to check in on her, and his wife Michelle, Brandy Taylor who helped to care for Nana the last few weeks of her life, and her husband Chad, Billy Howard who loved his Nana very much, Jamie Deason, who was always there to help care for Nana when needed, and her husband Jared, Brett Howard, who helped us set the “Nana Cams” numerous times; great-grandchildren, Kyle Beavers, Blake Howard, Hayes DuJardin, Callee Beavers, Cole Howard, Mia (Clove) DuJardin, David DuJardin, James Deason, Donavon DuJardin, Charlee Deason, Gabby Kuykendall, Gabe Kuykendall, and Olen Howard; sister, Connie Garrett; brother Terry Lee (Carolyn) and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Renee Ussery, caregiver extraordinaire. Pat Lovell, who’s friendship brought happiness to her final days, our right hand women and personal friends, Nancy Langley and Sherry Jones who provided emotional and physical support beyond measure. We would also like to thank Independent Senior’s of Arkansas, the staff of Andover Place and Kindred Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct 8, 2022, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, AR 72205.
