Horace H. (Joe or Jo-Jo) Harding Jr. son of the late Horace H. Harding Sr. and Katherine L. Harding was born December 31, 1940, passing peacefully in his sleep August 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Joe received his early education in Delaware City at school 118C, and graduated from Delaware City High School. He was on the football, basketball and baseball teams.
Joe joined the U.S. AirForce in 1961. His tour of duty saw him stationed in Kansas, Thailand and Vietnam. He was a member of the baseball team while stationed in Kansas. He was honorably discharged in 1965, returning home to Delaware. He worked a variety of jobs until finally settling in at General Motors, where he remained until retiring in 2001.
In 1968 Joe was united in marriage to the late Joyce A. Harding and from this union Tanya was born.
Joe was a dedicated member of St. Daniels United Methodist Church, serving in various capacities throughout the years. He especially enjoyed being a member of the choir, helping his wife Joyce, attend to the church's maintenance and administrative needs, and cutting the grass at the church for many years.

Joe was a loving father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend. He was a quiet humble man with an infectious smile and a giving heart. My sincere condolences to Joe´s daughter and family. I grew up in Delaware City and graduated from Delaware City High School with Joe and the class of 1958. Joe was a great guy and a popular member of our class. He joined us for our 50th class reunion and everyone was happy to spend time with him. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Sincerely,
Brenda Blake Brady
