Howard Thomas "Tom" Burgess, Jr., born March 13, 1948, in Louisville Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana accompanied by his wife on August 29, 2025. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, & great grandfather. He was a Vietnam War veteran who received a Purple Heart and numerous awards while in combat.
He is preceded in death by his mother Lois, father Howard Sr., & daughter, Emily Ramos.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years Sandra Stout Burgess, sisters Barbara Schwabe & Kendra Tanner. Children Jackie Pryse, Sheroyl Wynn, Aime Burgess, & Hannah Burgess, along with his step daughter Laci Hodges Hudson and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial will be announced at a later date.
