Howard "Jerry" Lee Coon was born July 20th, 1944 to Wallace and Willie Louise Coon in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on a farm. He attended South Side High School, and was an honorable United States Army soldier.
During his service, he earned several Medals of Honor: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marksman (Rifle), Marksman (Machine Gun). He was honorably discharged July of 1969.
Throughout his career he worked at Industrial Refuge as a trucker and a heavy machinery operator until he retired in 2008. His siblings are as follows: The (Late) Jake Coon, Mae Francis Wright, Eloise Jackson, Vincent Coon "Uncle Benny", and The (Late) Diana Lee Coon "Aunt Peanut".
Howard married the (late) Brenda Mills in 1975, who died suddenly of Cancer in 1988. Throughout the years he enjoyed his life with his children, Lisa Liewa, Crystal Ismail, Anthony Mills, The late Tasha Williams-Teasley, Vanita Wilson-Andrews, Kelly V. Mills "Violet", and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and many family and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during these times.
"Jerry" and his contagious smile will be greatly missed.
