Michael Wawrzonek, affectionately known as "Wojo" or "Big Mike," of Queens Village, NY, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2025, at age 41.
Born in Rockville Centre, Mike was the beloved son of Kathie and the late Matthew Wawrzonek, and the loving brother of Lauren. A proud graduate of South Side High School, Class of 2001, he was a standout basketball player who went on to earn his degree from Hartwick College in 2005.
Mike built a successful career in technology, spending 15 years with NetApp before joining Sphere. Known for his intelligence, humor, and charm, he earned the respect and admiration of everyone who knew him.
He loved the Yankees, his family's dog, Ellie-who he always insisted was his-and enjoyed life with his devoted girlfriend, Samantha. Mike will be remembered for his warmth, laughter, and the kindness he shared so freely.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Kathie, sister, Lauren, girlfriend, Samantha, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
