With deep gratitude and heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, and YaYa, Donna Marie Davis (née Sewell), on August 28, 2025, on Long Island, New York.
Donna was the warmest, kindest soul - a true light in our lives. She taught us strength, kindness, and love by the way she lived each day. The soundtrack of her life was filled with the music she loved so dearly - from the Beatles to Fleetwood Mac, Carole King, The Eagles, James Taylor and many others - songs that will forever remind us of her joy, her spirit, and her laughter.
Born on May 5, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, Donna was the beloved daughter of Beverly Krizan, the late John Sewell, and her late stepfather Stephen "Doc" Krizan. She was the eldest of four children and cherished sister to Teresa, Russ, and Linda.
Together with her devoted husband, Jerry Davis, Jr., Donna built a life filled with love and adventure. They raised three children - Lauren, Matt and Kyle and joyfully welcomed Lauren's husband Tim and Matt's partner Ke to the family. Donna delighted most in being "YaYa" to her treasured granddaughters, Claire and Caroline. She was also a loving aunt, great-aunt, godmother, and dear friend to many, whose warmth and generosity extended far beyond her immediate family.
Donna filled her days with the things she loved most - reading with her book club, golfing and playing tennis, baking elaborate cakes and Christmas cookies, traveling, and gathering with friends. She found peace and joy at the beach in Ocean City and Long Island, summer days in Saratoga Springs, and family visits back home in Maryland.
She also dedicated many years to South Side High School in Rockville Centre, where she supported the International Baccalaureate program and touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. She believed deeply in the power of education and community, values she carried into every part of her life.
To all who knew her, Donna will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, strength, and sense of fun. She lived fully and gave freely, leaving an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community.
We will miss her dearly, but we celebrate her incredible life and the love she poured into all of us. She passed in peace, surrounded by her family after a strong fight with cancer.
We invite all whose lives Donna touched to join us in honoring her beautiful life.
