I was sad to hear the Howard passed away. I was often called by him to have our company work on the greenhouse . I had met with him several times over the years and enjoyed our conversations. My condolences to all his family and friends .

I just learned about Howard's death. My condolences to his family. He was a good man and you will miss him. I always enjoyed his humor the few times that I got to talk to him. He lived a long life. My thoughts are with his family.

We had the pleasure of knowing Howard through the Grange. His level of commitment to any task was admirable. We served with him on the State Grange Fair Committee for ten years. Howard was a motivator of new ideas and a promoter of making things better. Fond memories of his enthusiasm for progress, his warm smile, and lively conversations will remain with us forever. Howard, may you rest in peace. Our sincere sympathy is extended to his family.

Sue, Tom & Family,
Nancy and I remember your dad with great joy. He was such a kind gentle man with a smile that would light up any room that he walked into. He was so proud of all of you and would talk about his wonderful family. Mr. Fife may you Rest In Peace.
Love,

I always enjoyed talking to Howard after church. He had such a wonderful appreciation for nature and history, and he would keep us updated on projects in Mittineague Park involving the old farm. He always had a smile and was a true gentleman.

I will always remember Howard as one of the sweetest men I've ever met. He was interested in so many things, and was such a wonderful example of one who gave back to his community. He will be missed greatly.

I met Howard while working at Big Y. I always enjoyed talking to him and hearing his stories . Whenever I was at the Big E I'd go and visit Howard at the Grange Building. He was such a sweet and gentle soul. My deepest sympathies to his family. RIP Howard.

Howard was always helpful to me while I was active in the garden club. We worked beside each other in some of the planting projects at the greenhouse. It was always a pleasure to be with him as he always had such a gentle manner when one needed assistance or advice about plant care in the greenhouse or other activities in the garden club. Howard's contributions to the community over the years will always be remembered by those who knew him.

From a small group of only 8 people, Howard started the W.S. Garden Club 54 years ago. He was always in and around the greenhouse in Mittineague Park working with us to get things done up until 2 years ago. He continued to serve on the Executive Board adding his ideas for consideration. Two days before he died he asked me to come to the Soldiers' Home to talk about plans he wanted us to carry out.
Any donations made in his name to the Garden Club will be used for a Memorial Bench to be placed at the top of the hill
just a short distance from the Santa House
on Fife Lane looking down on the greenhouse.
