Howard Mathis Obituary

Howard was born on July 17, 1965, in Easley, South Carolina to the late Louie and Myrtle Mathis. He was a 1983 graduate of Easley High School, an employee of Jennings Dill, and a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, as well as camping and was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Howard is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tracy Mathis of the home; two children, Katilin Mathis and James Mathis of the home; a brother, James "Chico" Mathis (Kelly); and three sisters, Belinda Aiken, Louise McCurry (Sandford), and Ila Mathis.
He was predeceased by five brothers, James Mathis, Earnest Mathis, Arthur Mathis, Larry McCall, and Gary McCall.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Harrison. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the church.
The family is at the home.
