Obituary of Howard McIntyre
Howard J. McIntyre 72, of Panama, NY, passed away peacefully, March 7, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua after an extended illness. He was born on March 28, 1950 to the late Richard and Clara Wells Mcintyre of Ashville, NY. He was a 1968 graduate of Southwestern Central School and later joined the Army, also serving in Vietnam, where he earned several medals for his time served. Prior to retirement he worked at the former Keywell Vac Air.
He was an avid sports fan and loved his Packers and Braves! He himself was a bowler, having bowled four "perfect" 300 games during his time in the leagues. He enjoyed having his family over to be around campfires and bonfires. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lyn Gleason McIntyre, whom he married on July 10, 1992. His six children Michael Ribbing (Laura) of Rochester, NY, Howie McIntyre Jr, Nichol Haskins (Chris), Janel McIntyre all of Jamestown, NY, Kyle McIntyre of Tampa, FL, and Jill McIntyre of Ashville, NY. Eight Grandchildren, Kyler, Carrie, Jenna and Daniel Ribbing of Rochester, NY, Gavyn and Zoe Haskins of Jamestown, NY and Alyssa and Gaige McIntyre of Lakewood, NY. Also survived are his siblings Marylou Garfield (Donald) of Panama, NY, Roger McIntyre (Liz) of Frewsburg, NY, Cynthia McIntyre of Blockville, NY and Melody Silvagnoli (Ceasar) of Oak Grove, KY and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Clara McIntyre.
At Howard's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service, only a private family gathering. We ask family and friends to attend a celebration of life at 12PM at Jamestown Bowling Company on March 19, 2023, where he enjoyed spending time.
Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home.
