Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, Inc. on Jan. 24, 2025.
Howard Edmund Moskowitz, 78, of
Canton, PA, passed away on January 22, 2025. He courageously battled multiple myeloma for the last few years and passed peacefully at Robert Packer Hospital following a short illness of flu and pneumonia. He was born on May 31, 1946, in Newark, NJ.
Throughout his life, Howard was hard-working and dedicated. He spent many years working as an electrical engineer, where he was especially proud of his employment with Lockheed Martin working on their satellite program and then with GE Healthcare as a Certified Accelerator Technician on the nuclear particle accelerator.
Howard was also a proud veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a Sargent in the Air Force. His position was in radio relay and as an ECM simulator repairman. We are very thankful to Sayre VA for the care and services they provided to our father while he lived in Pennsylvania.
Howard lived most of his life in New Jersey, moving from Edison, NJ to
Canton, PA in June 2023. Moving from the city to a small town was a big change, but he loved to socialize in the small Canton businesses and stop at the food trucks when they were set up. He was often seen driving his mobility scooter around town and frequently attended the Canton Senior Center and then Canton Senior Club. The local festivals and fairs were always something he looked forward to as he could enjoy a gyro and partake in local organization table giveaways. He was able to attend school events and family meals regularly with some frequent requests for fried potatoes and always looking forward to coffee and dessert.
Surviving Howard are his brother Jack (Joan) Moskowitz and Howard's children Juliane (Michael) Byce, Ginnette Moskowitz, Aaron (Kathy) Moskowitz, and Miranda (Jeremy) Peffer. Howard also loved to spend time and playfully tease his grandchildren, Aaron, Josh, Max, Faith Moskowitz and Benjamin, Ellie, and Hudson Peffer. Howard had many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that he held very close to his heart.
Howard was predeceased by his parents, Maxwell and Agusta "Gussie", and his sister Janet (Marvin) Bromberg.
A private burial will be held on January 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Grover Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canton Senior Club, PO Box 91,
