Howard Franklin Ottgen, passed away at the age of 87 on Saturday, October 25, 2025. He died at his home in Mancelona, Michigan.
He was born on June 17, 938 at his parent's farm home. He was the loving son of Ben and Eunice Ottgen.
Howard married his next door neighbor girl, Queen on August 24, 1963. They have a son, Jefferey and a daughter Janeth.
He was an active member of the Mancelona Church of the Nazarene. He served as a Secretary, Usher, and Trustee.
Howard was a farmer. He was also a custodian and bus driver for the Mancelona Schools. He enjoyed hunting deer and fishing. He enjoyed taking his family on vacation to many places in the United States too. Howard looked forward to his family reunions.
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, his sisters Alice, Pat, and Helen, and his brothers Don, Ralph, Dolph, and Steve.
Howard is survived by his wife Queen, his son Jefferey and his daughter Janeth. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, October 29, from 10 to 11 am. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 29, at 11 a.m. all at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Rev. Dennis Burton officiating. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
