Howard David Rector, age 59, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on July 23, 2025, at Capital Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 17, 1966, Howard was the beloved son of the late James E. Rector Jr. and Geraldine (Tomlinson) Rector. He grew up in Missouri and graduated from Camden Christian School. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Howard served his country with honor and remained deeply proud of his service throughout his life.

On June 25, 1994, Howard married the love of his life, Amy Barnes, in Camdenton, Missouri. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family.

Howard worked as a laborer throughout his life, doing odd jobs and later working in stocking at Gerbes Grocery Store. He was known for his curious mind, his fascination with science fiction and conspiracy theories, and his deep appreciation for the outdoors. But above all, Howard was a devoted family man-nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Amy Rector; his children, Wyatt Rector (Natalie) and Kayla Rector; and his cherished granddaughters, Lily Rector and Iris Rector. He is also survived by his siblings, James E. Rector III (Cita), Benjamin D. Rector (Jacklyn), and Dottie Newland (Chris); as well as a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jason Rector.

Howard's legacy is one of resilience, humor, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
