Howard John Roberts, age 69, of Oskaloosa, Iowa and formerly of North Dakota, passed away at
his daughters home in Oskaloosa. He was born on March 24, 1956 in Pratt, Kansas, the son of
Howard S. and Dorothy (Mansfield) Roberts. He attended Skyline schools in Pratt, Kansas. After
high school, he joined the United States Army and served his country for 4 years. He was united
in marriage to Jeanie Welch on March 22, 1975. Jeanie passed away in 2004. Years later he was
united in marriage to Martha Johnlouis. Martha passed away in 2025.
In his younger years, Howard worked in the oil fields and also did work as a welder. Later he
went to work as an over the road truck driver for the majority of his working life. He enjoyed trips to
the casino, traveling and being with friends and family. He had a special love for his dogs.
He is survived by his children, Kandy (Joshua) Richardson and Misty Roberts; his grandchildren,
Ryllie Siroky, Korbin Siroky, Gavin Fleming, Lily Roberts, Maxximus Richardson, Blake (Alondra) Roberts,
Kayla Urban, Megan Urban, Zackery Urban and Samuel Urban; a great-grandchild, Luke Roberts;
his siblings Karen (Patrick) Martinez, Sherri Voepel, Betty Young and Shirley Rainey.
Howard was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanie Roberts; his second wife, Martha Roberts
and his parents, Howard S. and Dorothy Roberts.
As was his wish, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The
Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
