Howie and his ex-wife were good friends at a time in my life when I really needed them, and they have been ever since. Proud of Howie for the brave fight he has put up the past several years. RIP

I was lucky to have gone to High School with Howie and have to admit that even then his caring spirit and outlook was obvious. We only shared one class together and that was in 11th grade, the rest of the time we greeted one another in the halls. We went to prom and were table mates during the festivities etc. I wouldn't see him again until ten years later for the reunion but even with a decade behind us there was that same smile and friendly greeting. When I finally brought myself online with a new computer it was Howie who suggested I sign up for facebook cause that's where our classmates were these days! Life passed us by and when I last spoke with him he was originally given his diagnosis. We talked for a little bit as he was driving to work but kept that positive outlook I'll always remember him for. When my wife suffered the first of two strokes he called and messaged to see how both of us were managing and didn't want to provide much updates from his end. Howie is going to be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.

Howie was one of the kindest and most giving person I have ever met in my life. He knew no stranger and loved everyone. Anyone with cancer or who had a family member with cancer he would share his journey with them and help them to cope and understand what to expect. He helped me so much during my brother's fight with pancreatic cancer and when my brother Tom passed away, Howie was one of the first to get in touch with me to see what he could do. I find that really amazing since we had never met in person at that time in our lives. I pray for Howie's wife Lorrie, his children and her children were like one beautiful family. His ex Susan was a best friend to Howie and a great friend to Lorrie. I doubt anyone could find a more wonderful and loving person than Howie and the Schnur family. Howie created a FB page for people with cancer and he had almost 3000 members who supported each other and their families get through this terrible disease. His sense of humor was wonderful and could pull you out of the darkest hole and get you to laugh. He really cared about everyone he came in contact with, there was nothing phony about Howie Schnur.
May God bless this beautiful family and all of Howie's friends. I wish everyone in this world could have a friend like Howie. He was indeed an Earth Angel to so many of us. Rest in Peace Dear Friend, I am sure when you arrived Home, God said Welcome Home Howie, Well done my son!

Howie helped me immensely keep my sense of humor during chemo and after my surgery. He helped me see there was so much more to life than chemo, nausea and meds. He showed me that people can still care about someone and come to be a friend and a family member who you deeply love and admire for their strength. To Lorrie and the kids, he loved you so much. You all were his world and his face lit up everytime he spoke about you all. May God wrap you in His loving arms and be with you during the next few months. Howie and your dad will always be with you and you are all in my thoughts, prayers and heart.
