Huey Lee Gilmore, age 90, of Pickensville, AL, passed away April 3, 2025, at Generations of Vernon. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Butler officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
Mr. Gilmore was born February 18, 1935, in Fulton, MS, to the late Leo and Jewell Stanford Gilmore. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Marines. Mr. Gilmore was a retired postmaster and member of the Pickensville Baptist Church, and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Gilmore, son, David Lee Gilmore, grandson, Robert Daniel Gilmore, brothers, Larry Gilmore, Hubert Gilmore, Lionel Gilmore, and Purvis Gilmore, and sisters, Letha Gilmore and Wanda Weir.
Survivors include his son, Dennis Gilmore and his wife Deborah of Columbus, MS, brother, Royce Gilmore of Columbus, MS, sister, Cynthia Gilmore of Tuscaloosa, AL, and grandchildren, Scott Gilmore, Erica Braswell and her husband Keith, Dustin Lee Gilmore, Traysea Gilmore, Stren Gilmore, and Tyler Gilmore.
Pallbearers will be Keith Braswell, Keith McGee, Scott Gilmore, Dustin Gilmore, and Austin Braswell.
