Hugh B "Bud" Cansler, age 83 of Loudon passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, with his family by his side.
Hugh was born in Loudon to parents, Harless Lee and Pearl (Adkins) Cansler. As a young boy, Hugh was saved at Lakewood Baptist Church and as 32-year-old man he rededicated his life to the Lord at Corinth Baptist Church where he continued his membership until his passing. Hugh was a hard worker. Early on he worked a sawmill with his dad and when he was old enough he worked on the Great Lakes hauling iron ore for commercial construction. Eventually Hugh started his own heavy equipment business where he assisted in many construction projects. In his spare time, he liked to fish and camp. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his Harley.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret "Polly" and Johnny Wiggins, Volena and Roy Stalcup and Sam Axley.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sue (Ward) Cansler; sons, Harless Ray Cansler and Hugh L. "Huey" Cansler, all of Loudon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Joe and Shelby Cansler, Kerry Lynn and Fannie Rae Cansler, all of Madisonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Jean and Junior King, Mary and Mack Bland, all of Sweetwater and Brenda Axley, Loudon; special friends, John and Ruth Gray, Loudon; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services honoring and remembering Hugh Cansler will be held 7:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2025, in the McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Adam Cook officiating.
Interment 11:00 AM Saturday, March 1st in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
If you so desire, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Corinth Cemetery Fund.
