Pastor Tony Lee Cansler

Pastor Tony Lee Cansler, age 48, entered into those pearly gates on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 12:42 a.m. at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital. He loved the Lord and preached many years! He started preaching when he was 17. He was the current pastor at East Park Church in Shelbyville, TN. He pastored and preached in several other churches. Union Grove Baptist Church always held a special place in his heart. He pastored there for 11 yrs. He was married to the love of his life, Casondra for 28 yrs. He has 2 wonderful children he loved so much; Shy and Hayden. He was preceded in death by his Dad Terry, Papaw Erskin Garrett who was his world; grandparents, Etta Reynolds, Charles and Edith Cansler. He leaves behind wife Casondra; children, Shyanne and Hayden, all originally from Tellico Plains; mom, Laura Cansler; In-laws, Frank and Charlotte Smith; special friends throughout his life, Avery Reid, Jerry Ervin, David Talley, Erick Price, Wade Berry and John Davis, Ricky Brown. He loved his family. He loved his Tennessee Vols. He loved photography and going to truck shows. He loved spending time in nature and the snow. Most of all he loved Jesus and sharing His Word to lead those to Christ. He always longed for Jesus to say" Well done My good and faith servant. You have fought a good fight, you have kept the faith, you have finished your race." And on November 13th that call came through. He entered into the Joys of the Lord! Funeral 7:00 P.M. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Interment 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
