Hugh Cotcamp

Hugh D. Cotcamp passed away surrounded by his daughters on May 27, following a short illness. He was born on July 19, 1933, in Fayetteville, WV. He grew up in Whitney Point, NY where he fell in love and married his high school sweetheart, Sylvia Henderson. They started their lives together in Ithaca, NY where Hugh attended Cornell University. After graduation, Hugh started a career with Ford Tractor division where he continued to work until retirement.
Hugh and Sylvia moved to Michigan in the late 60's to further his career. In Michigan they developed lifelong friendships and truly found their "home". They remained there until he retired, and they moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. Dad's devotion to Mom was never more evident than when he lovingly cared for her during her long battle with cancer. Shortly before her death Dad moved to Utah to be closer to family.
Dad was an avid skier and loved to bike, both of which he continued to enjoy into his 80's.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia and his son Dennis. He is survived by three daughters, 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He loved pie, golf, family ski trips and most of all his family. Hugh was a loving and devoted father and encouraged and supported his children in all their interests and endeavors. Of all his accomplishments, his greatest joy was always his family. He was generous, kind and an amazing example of what a husband and father should be.
