Hugh Shearer Obituary

"Hugh baby" Shearer Jr., 65, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his home in Frankfort, Kentucky, with his loving wife Bonnie by his side. Hugh was born on January 14, 1958, to the late Hugh Sr. and Sarah Moore Shearer in Frankfort, Kentucky. Hugh retired as a foreman with the Kentucky state road crew. Hugh enjoyed anything outdoors, camping, fishing, and mowing. Hugh liked fixing and tinkering with things and appreciated a good yard sale to check in on. Hugh and Bonnie spent time together boating and using the camper for trips. He was a jack of all trades and had all sorts of handy skills.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Shearer, his daughter Abby Shearer, both of Frankfort, Kentucky; a very special niece, Sarah Cummins (Chris Johnson); two brothers, Greg (Jackie) Shearer of Munfordville, Kentucky, and Charley (Andre'a) Shearer, of Germany; two grandchildren Lily Cummins, and Malikai Cummins of Frankfort.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carol Sissy Saylor.
There will be a celebration of life meal in Hugh's honor, on Friday, May 26th at 12pm, at Evergreen Baptist Church, in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Hugh will be buried at a later date at Frankfort Cemetery, in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Arrangements have been made through Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort.
