Hugh Arlan Sugg

Hugh Arlan Sugg, age 89, of Henderson, KY, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at his home.
Hugh was a veteran of The United States Army who proudly served his country. He had a long and distinguished career as a welder and sheet metal fabricator with George Koch and Sons before retiring. He enjoyed building things and he was good at it. Hugh was a 50-year Mason and member of the Jerusalem No. 9 Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents AB and Effie Sugg, Hugh was preceded in death by his wife of more than 30 years Ruth Sugg, sisters: Irene Kellen, Rebecca Lawrence, Mary Walker, Ruth Tyre (his twin), Mattie Littrell, and Betty Gish.
Hugh is survived by sons: Arlan Sugg and his wife Taunje, Henry Sugg and his wife Alisa, and Matthew Sugg; brothers George H. Sugg and Royce Jennings; grandchildren: Carrie Bean, Dana Pruitt, and Mykenzee Sugg; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; companion Alice Wells; and last but certainly not least his beloved grand puppies P'Nut, Jerry Lee, Molly, and Layla.
Relatives and friends are invited to Hugh's Life Celebration from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, and again on Friday starting at 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Alan Bivens officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
