Hugh E Templeton, age 100, of Croydon passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Lawrence and Catherine (nee Smith) Templeton. He was a resident of Croydon for more than 78 years. Hugh was a decorated Army Sergeant for the 100th Infantry Division in France and Germany during WWll, receiving a Purple Heart during his service. After the war, he worked as a welder and then a union carpenter for Local 1462.
He was an AMAZING carpenter. He was always working on projects in his garage from bird houses to many different pieces of furniture for family and friends. Hugh and his late wife Margaret were avid campers for 25 years through the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Hugh enjoyed fishing, spending time outside, sudoku puzzles, doodling and watching this old house when he wasn't building or fixing something. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed
He is survived by his children, Hugh E Templeton Jr (Marcia), Earl Templeton (Barbara), Margaret Shirley (George Klein); grandchildren, Eric, Bryan (Lori), Marcie (Tom), Elise (Noah), and Joey (Elizabeth), and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Brendan, Cannon, Aubrey, Zachary, Cora, Zoey, Hunter, Maggie, Octavia, and Gunther and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by his Funeral Service, 12:00 p.m., at Molden Funeral Home, 133 Otter Street, Bristol, PA. Interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery 1:30pm. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Hugh, please visit our Tree Store.
