Hugh Wilder Obituary
Born December 24, 1949, Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Vivion Andrew Wilder and Marjorie Prescott Wilder. He is survived by his wife Kathy, two sons Andrew "Drew", Whit (Erin), daughter Erin Hooker (Mike), four grandchildren Michael, Madden, Ellie-Kate, and Lilly-Grace, sister Rose Marie Burns (Gene), sister-in-law Phyllis DuBose, niece Pam Rogers, and nephew Greg Burns. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend.
Buck was educated at Mayewood High School and Midstate Medical before being drafted into the Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the V.A. with 42 years of dedicated federal service. He will definitely be remembered by his unfailing work ethic.
The great outdoors was his heaven on earth. His passion was his family, hunting, and fishing.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., until the time of the service at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Please sign the guestbook at www.thomaspoteet.com

My favorite memory of this Westmont dad is how supportive and excited he was for both Whitney and Erin to be doing science activities in their 2nd grade classroom. He used to bring us supplies for every kid to use. I especially remember the pipettes he got for us and the water droplets experiments we did using them. He was a wonderful dad and loved his kids above all else.
