Victor Hugo Castro, 80, of Weymouth, MA went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Hugo, how he was known to many, was born on March 21, 1944, and worked as a merchant and salesman in his native Costa Rica, until he immigrated to Massachusetts where he worked at Keltron Corporation until he retired. After he retired, he lived in Chelsea, Quincy and Weymouth.
Hugo was married to Maria de los Angeles Abarca with whom he had 5 children: Kathia Nieves (Castro) of Hewitt, NJ., Monica Burgos (Castro) of Derry, NH., Paula Castro of Weymouth, MA., Hugo G. Castro of Newark, NJ and Guillermo Castro of Ciudad Colon, San Jose Costa Rica. Later he united his life to Maria Leyla Ventura with whom he remained for the last 28 years.
Hugo was a son, a brother, a husband, father, grandfather, and a great-grandfather with a joyful spirit and a great love for music, technology and life. Hugo always worked to maintain his connection with his family from his native Santa Ana, San Jose Costa Rica. Hugo worked and lived humbly dedicated all his strengths to better himself with an adventurous spirit. He always thought the value of work, responsibility and the value of family. Many will remember him for his sense of humor.
In eternal life Hugo joined his father Rodolfo Castro Sandi, his mother Ligia Castro Porras, his brother, Mario Castro, and his sister Ligia (Chola) Castro.
Hugo is survived by, his children: Kathia Nieves (Castro) & husband José J Nieves of Hewitt, NJ., Mónica Burgos (Castro) & husband Aradny Essaú Burgos of Derry, NH., Paula Castro and companion Mario Borbón of Weymouth, MA., Hugo Gerardo Castro of Newark, NJ y Guillermo Castro & wife Diana Rodríguez of Ciudad Colón, San Jose Costa Rica. Hugo is also survived by his life companion of 28 years, María Leyla Ventura and children. Surviving also are his siblings: Rodolfo (Macho) Castro of Quincy, MA, Adrián Castro & wife Alma, of Tampa, Fl., Caudia Diaz (Cabita) & husband Manuel of Chelsea, MA & Virginia Castro (Chita) of Santa Ana, San José Costa Rica. He had 15 grandchildren who survived him: Crystal Burgos, Kevin Burgos, Paola Castro y Polet Castro of Massachusetts, Amy Burgos (Eichner), of NH; Melanie Burgos of MA, Donovan N. Burgos y Emma Burgos, of NH; Nathan Nieves and Matthew Nieves de Hewitt, NJ; Samantha Castro de Wharton, NJ, Carina & Gabriella Schlichte of Pembroke, MA, and Lucas Felipe Castro y Maria Pia Castro of Ciudad Colon San Jose, Costa Rica & his 6 great-grandchildren: Dominic, Joshia, Emy, Omar, Calvin and Benjamin.
Hugo's life Partner and children invite family, relatives and friends to join them at Hamel-Lydon Chapel located at 650 Hancock St, Quincy, MA, on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm,
