Hunter Cook Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory on Dec. 12, 2025.
Hunter James Alexander Cook, age 21, of Woodstock, passed away on December 7, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Billy McLain officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service. Graveside interment will be at Johntown Cemetery.
Hunter was born October 18, 2004, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He graduated from Brookwood High School in 2023 and went on to work as a floorhand for Brookwood Oilfield Services. When Hunter wasn't working, he could almost always be found outdoors-duck hunting, deer hunting, or simply roaming around looking for something new to get into. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Hunter collected friends everywhere he went and had more than anyone could ever count. Hunter was hard-working, kind, genuinely funny, and lived his life to the absolute fullest. He loved music, spending time with his friends and family, and making people laugh. He was known for his big heart, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought into every room he walked into.
Hunter was preceded in death by his father Roy E Cook and his "Uncle Chops" Jerry Cummins.
He is survived by his mother Misty Cummins, sisters Hannah Cummins & McKenzie Cook, brothers: Jake Cummins (Kalee Stoinski), Jesse Cook (Katie Cook), Josh Cook (Kelli Cook) and Hunter Hammitt (Abi Mahan), grandparents Jerry and Sue Cummins, nieces Tinlee and Sailor Cummins, Holli Kathryn Cook, Ruby Katherine Cook, Anabelle Cook, Connor Cook, Lesli Cook and Hadley Hammitt; as well as a host of extended family and numerous friends.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Jake Cummins, Hunter Hammitt, Jesse Cook, Josh Cook, Cameron Gaither, Dakota Herren, Sean Carter, Jacob Strickland, Sean Hearle, Carltun Jennings, Bubba Mckeever, and Aubri Cummins.
Hunter's presence was larger than life, and his absence leaves an ache that cannot be measured. He will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Hunter Cook, please visit our floral store.
