Ida Drabbels Obituary

She was born on October 16, 1929 at Gordon, Nebraska to Arnold and Augusta (Poppe) Kling. She was baptized on February 2, 1930 and she was confirmed May, 1945.
On December 26, 1948 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Drabbels at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gordon.
She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in the Sunday school program, L.W.M.L. and Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Ida Mae is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Lee Backstrom of Thornton, CO and her son, Tad Drabbels of Alliance. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark (Maura) Backstrom of Fort Collins, CO and Michelle (Rob) Delier of Westminster, CO and her great grandchildren, Colton, Caitlyn Chris, Nova and Lana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, Sharon, her brothers, Floyd and Lester and her sisters, Inez,Dorothy and Donna Mae.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Gordon Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 1-6 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran School or Highland Park Care Center.
